Amazing. i loved it. lots of fantastic water features. stunning walks. great trees and a few mature species for the anoraks. some new plantings of younger good choice trees which i am always happy to see. dog friendly. enough sculpture, water features to keep the kids amused. Excellent for tree and plant enthusiasts / spotters. spring and autumn are
proberly the best time to go. unexpected and pleasant surprise.

For a park owned by a Council [which normally fills me with forboding] they are making a slow but steady job of restoring this place to a fair level of tidiness and authenticity. Water features are working, the areas nearer the House are reasonably well cared for and with some good signing. Further way from the house, up the valley, there is evidence of work being carried out to bring under control a lot of over grown and neglected landscape.
I visited this place about two years ago and can see improvements. It has a lot going for it.
