A fifteenth century (1482) moated manor house with a nineteenth century garden. The parterre, made in 1845, was based on a design by A J Dezallier d'Argenville's book of 1712. There is a terrace, yew hedging and herbacaeous borders. The turreted kitchen garden is now planted with fruit trees.

Opening times - Mid March to end October. Saturday to Wednesday and daily in August. Open 11am to 5.30pm. Also open weekends November to mid March 11am to 4pm.

    the gardens may be small but what they lack in quality planting and volume of flowers they make up for with pleasant walks and the views of a spectacular moated house.

    the rating is for the garden, the combination of house, private chapel (in the garden) and nearby semi-ruined church are worth 4.
