Reviews of Hinton Admiral Gardens

I have just returned from an afternoon at the gardens-even my teenage son was happy to spend the afternoon wandering around with us! Thought the teas and cakes were a nice touch, and the ladies helping were so friendly. I was happy NOT to see huge muffins in plastic wrappers with a 6 month shelf life that all taste the same. I much prefer a cup of tea poured from a pot than a teabag floating about in a polystyrene vessel! Some people can be so picky!! Well done girls-toffee cake next year please!! Bearing in mind the damage done in the storm of 1987 the garden will take time to recover and it is apparent work is ongoing. Living locally, I would like to see the grounds open more often, esp in the early spring. Would also be nice to perhaps learn a bit more about the history of the house as it always seems a little shrouded in mystery!!
All in all a very pleasant afternoon.

I agree with Val's review. It is a pity that this garden is not open more often. We spent several hours yesterday admiring the many beautiful plantings. The gardeners I'm sure would be happy for more people to be able to enjoy the fruits of their labours!
A nice cup of tea and home-made cake adds to the enjoyment of the outing and hopefully benefits a good cause at the same time..

OK if you do not want much to see the best was the rock garden but still have seen a lot better with more interest. For garden lovers, not the best, but if you are in the area and at a loss well go then,for a walk, a lot of walking and space if you have the energy,so tea was called for, outside on terrace, if you could could get a seat, The tea and cakes outside on tressle tables not the most hygienic, very basic ready made in large metal teapots, poured straight into a cup for you, not great, ONLY cake selection available,when we went at about 2.30pm no biscuits or scones, sandwiches they would have been great a addition.need to take food with you if diabetic or gluten free. Will not be going back. NOT wheelchair friendly
