High Point

The flats were designed by Tecton and praised by Le Corbusier as a model for future residental development. The gardens look like an Abstract Modern design in plan (as the architecture is) but rather Arts and Crafts on the ground. Both flats and garden survive in good condition. Much can be seen from the street but the property is not open to the public. Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe lived here after his wife died, saying that the views were adequate compensation for not being outdoors, though he missed seeing water.
