The Fragrant Hills Temple was built in 1186 (in the Jin Dynasty) and it became a royal garden with the name 'Garden of Tranquility and Pleasure'. Many additional structures were built, including the Bright Temple, The Lacebark Pine Pavilion, the Jade Flower Villa, the and the Diamond Throne Pagoda - the a resting place of Sun Yat-sen.
