The garden festival at Chaumont-sur-Loire is south of the chateau. It has two walks, the Vallon des Brumes and Sentier des Fers Sauvages, but most of the site is used for annual display gardens, many influenced by Pop Art.

Racines guide points out 4 stars for artistic and/or historic reasons. So I was a bit disappointed to find a however fine garden festival which could be held anywhere and a very nice but not outstanding park... Allowing for the royal view across the unspoilt Loire river landscape it all adds up to 4 stars here...
