Ascott Garden

A classic Victorian garden in what Edward Kemp called the Mixed Style. Ascott was laid out after 1874 by a famous firm of nurserymen, James Veitch and Sons. It has a large collection of 'specimen trees', a topiary sundial, a Madeira Walk, a Dutch Garden, a long walk and other features.

The Old English black and white half timbered manor house dates from the seventeenth century but underwent many changes after being bought by the Rothschild family in 1873.
