William Aiton

Born - Died : 1731 - 1793
Aiton was a Scots gardener. He worked at Kew and produced the Hortus Kewensis (1789) listing over 5,000 plants in cultivation at Kew. His son, William Townsend Aiton (1766) was born at Kew and later had charge of the Royal Pavilion at Brighton
