John Gerard

Master of the Company of Barber-Surgeons and author of a famous Herball, published in 1597. John Gerard looked after the garden at Theobalds, now destroyed, and dedicated a catalogue of his own garden to Sir Walter Raleigh, who lived at Sherbourne Castle.
