'Woerlitz is the most beautiful place in Germany I know' (Elisa von der Recke 1786). Indeed, being part of the ‘Garden Kingdom’ Dessau-Woerlitz, the Woerlitzer Anlagen are unique in the German garden landscape. The parkland covers about 98.9 acres (40 ha) and is rich in vistas and avenues that offer plenty of pleasant walks. The park can also be explored by ferry and gondolas that run regularly across the numerous lakes and canals. The Schloss, the Belvedere and the Gotisches Haus are worth a visit too, so it is easy to spend en entire day in the Woerlitzer Anlagen.
