White Horse Temple Garden, Baima Si

  3.0/5 (1 ratings)

Gardenvisit Editorial

Baima Si was the first Buddhist temple in China. The name refers to the White Horse on which the Buddhist sutras were carried from India, along the Silk Road, to China (c 68 CE). The oldest feature on the site is the Qilun Pagoda, built in 1175. There is also a badly made but interesting re-creation of a Buddhist garden.
