The Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory on Belle Isle was designed by Albert Kahn. In 1952 the wooden beams were replaced with aluminum. Nearby is a perennial garden, a rose garden and a lily pond garden. The Conservatory contains a large orchid collection. The original park on Belle Isle was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted in 1881.
