it's several years since we last went to wentworth, and what a transformation! the gardens are stunning, even though under renervation in places. we didn't eat in the resturant but it looked lovely. The petting farm was small but our 12mth old son thought it was marvelous (and i was quite taken by a goat kid that had just been born). We spent 3 hours there and could easily have stayed longer but they were closing. we'll deffinately be returning soon.
Just in response to what 'A Pember' has posted above I need to clarify that the Family Farm has always been a completely separate entity to the garden centre.
During late April 2011 the Family Farm will come back under the overall umbrella of Wentworth Garden Centre and will be totally redeveloped over the ensuing 12 months to include British wildlife, farm animals, birds, reptiles and exotics. The format will be much more interactive and educational with regular events running throughout each day where children and adults can touch, feed and learn about our animals.
Hopefully this clears up the situation for you and you will give us another try again in the future.
Visited for the first time today with my daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Loved the garden centre, play area, cafe and visited the farm (not good). Couldn't wait to get out as I was upset to see how most of the animals looked utterly miserable and for the majority there was not a blade of grass in sight. I hope to goodness they are not all in their pens for 24 hours a day.
Sorry to say if you can't do any better then give up on the farm (find them some decent homes)and concentrate on what you do best!
