Welford Park

Welford Park is a private estate with a fabulous snowdrop collection. They thrive on the chalky soil. The owners have a long tradition of opening the grounds during the last weeks to winter for the impressive snowdrop display. See below link for garden opening details. The planting style, with drifts of snowdrops in woodland, owes much to the ideas of John Ruskin as interpreted by William Robinson. It is naturalistic as, with various interpretations of the word 'nature' are most styles of garden design. At Welford Park 'natural' means 'in the manner of natural woodland'. Beautiful.
