There is the royal water palace of Tirta Gangga. It was built in 1947 by Bali's last King. The garden is 3 acres and is laid out on 3 levels. There is a series of pools which use water from a sacred spring. Tirta Gangga was a summer palace and there is another palace 5 km south of Amlapural in Ujung.
