Known to me as Newgrange, it is indeed a fascinating and wonderful place. I do not know enough about the place to be sure but I think it is 'architecture designed in relation to the landscape' rather than an example of the design of outdoor space. Stonehenge seems closer to landscape architecture and it is not in the Garden Finder (yet). Suggestions always welcome - and if anyone can get me a ticket for the solstice at Dún Fhearghusa I can guarantee a full entry on Gardenvisit.com!

"the most ancient masterpiece of western landscape architecture" : no doubt a masterly egyptian work of art and an impressive age. However I wonder what disqualifies sacred European places like Dún Fhearghusa (Newgrange/Éire, built between c.3300-2900 BC) of being mentioned in garden finder?

Thank you for so much information about Hatshepsut Temple. I did not think of it as a garden but I can see what you mean. It is a sacred garden.
