Temple Newsam Garden

  5.0/5 (1 ratings)

Gardenvisit Editorial

A Tudor/Jacobean house with park and garden, now run as a park and golf course. The Temple Newsam park was designed by Lancelot Brown. His plan, dated 1762, survives and is a good example of his style. The park has suffered from open cast mining and use as a golf course but still has the spatial character of a Brownian park. Temple Newsam also has a woodland garden, an 'Italian garden' and a walled garden with specialised plant collections.
Address - Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, LS15 0AE
Opening times - All year. Daily. Open 9am to dusk.
