An eighteenth century house with park and garden. The park was designed by Lancelot Brown in 1777 and the plan survives in the house. It shows an enclosing tree belet and clumps. The garden has a paved sculpture court (1911) and a recently made knot garden (visible if you zoom in on the satellite image on the map below).

Opening times - Early April to late September. Closed on Mondays and Saturdays throughout the season in the exception of Bank Holidays. Gardens open 10am to 5pm.

A nice park with views of the Yorkshire countryside. The walled Garden is hexagonal and is a wall within a wall.
Lots of Roses that actually smell!!! A feast for more than one of the senses!(3.0/5)
