The garden is located in La Carolina Park and was created to conserve and exhibit the native flora of the Andes. There is a large orchidarium containing over 1,200 species of orchid.

I visitd in January 2007 and was quite impressed. The constant spring-like weather is always welcome. Fuchsia, Hebe, Leucospermum, and Puya were all stunning during my visit! Well worth a visit when you're in Quito.
