A Victorian castle (1820-45) with park and garden overlooking the Menai Strait. The park has lawns and speciment trees. The walled garden at Penrhyn Castle, illustrated in Jekyll's Garden Ornament, has terraces, arbour, pergola, pools and lawns.

the formal gardens are small.

the house I might add is a masterpiece of Victorian Gothic and deserves to be much better known.
