The museum had a wonderful opportunity to make a medieval garden based on the best information available. Instead they chose to make a rather trashy modern garden with a vaguely medieval theme (there is no evidence of timber decking being popular in medieval gardens).

Small garden in the city. Nice and refreshing, rather pretty, but that's all.

The garden is a great disappointment, as it has little or nothing to do with the Cluny museum of the middle ages, or with the Roman Baths which are at the rear. The baths are the most interesting part of the garden. The Museum, home of the Unicorn Tapestry, is wonderful.
