National Cathedral Gardens

  4.0/5 (1 ratings)

Gardenvisit Editorial

The gardens were designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr. and occupy two thirds of the Washington National Cathedral site. The site layout was started in 1907 but the cathedral was not completed until 1990. A number of gardens were made within the Olmsted landscape in the intervening years - including a herb garden with plants from Walafried Strabbo's famous medieval poem Hortulus.
Address - Washington National Cathedral, Massachusetts and Wisconsin Avenues, NW, Washington, District of Columbia, USA, DC 20016-5098
Opening times - All year. Dawn to dusk.
