Mirehouse House Gardens

Mirehouse is on the eastern shore of Bassenthwaite Lake. There is a walled bee garden, heather maze, orchard, wildflower meadow and rhododendron tunnel. The manor house is seventeenth century and has been owned by the Spedding family since 1802. Mirehouse has many literary associations (including poets Wordsworth and Tennyson) and holds an annual poetry competition.

Mirehouse is a small and pretty garden. What makes Mirehouse is location. It is sat next to Bassenthwaite Lake and the views are amazing.

You park in the car park where the RSPB's Osprey watchpoint is.
