An eighteenth century house with an eighteenth century arboretum and a twentieth century Arts and Crafts garden. The terraced garden was made in 1906, by Parsons and Partridge, and re-planted in the 1960s. Milton Lodge Gardens have good planting and fine views over Wells and its cathedral. The swimming pool was built in 1967 and contributes to the garden design. The soil is highly alkaline.
