A turreted Tudor house (1578). The old moat has become a sunken garden. The octagonal Tudor gazebo is a marvel and overlooks the village green. There is also an Edwardian terrace, topiary, a pond and fountain .

Melford Hall is a small National Trust property. The usual picture of it shows a moat - alas the moat is viewable only from the public footpath and it is integrated into the garden.

The garden itself is small and not particularly inspiring.

The moat leads to a large pond and this is all marked private.

It's a garden you could make something of, alas the trust hasn't!
