Matthaei Gardens

The Matthaei Botanical Gardens was a gift from Fred and Mildred Matthaei. The design by O.C. Simonds (Ossian Cole Simonds, author of Landscape-Gardening, 1920) and makes imaginative use of the topography. It has long walks beside Fleming Creek and through woodland. There are perennials, roses, native plants and a knot garden.
