William Marie Selby gave their Sarasota Bay home for public enjoyment. They were heirs to the Selby oil company (later Texaco) . The gardens are set among live oaks and have notable collection of orchids and palms, set off by the Spanish Moss which is a speciality of the garden managers.

    Don't miss this if you are in the area. It has a wonderful location overlooking the bay; the plants are fascinating; and if you're an orchid fan, you'll be in heaven. This garden is all about colours, textures and huge displays - it's impressive!
