Mackenzie King Garden

Gardenvisit Editorial

This estate belonged to Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King and was left to the Canadian people when he died in 1950. It forms part of the 88,000 acre Gatinau Park. King was a keen gardener with a liking for floral bedding, artificial ruins and collections of actual ruins (eg from the Westminster parliament building in London). Winston Churchill visited Mackenzie King here.
