La Finca Puente San Miguel Garden

Gardenvisit Editorial

The estate belonged to the man who discovered the caves of Altamira, Don Marcelino Sanz de Sautuola (1831 - 88) but shows no sign of his interest in rock art. The present garden was started by a Seville garden designer (Javier de Winthuysen) in the 1930s, using a renaissance revival style. In the 1980s this was overlayed by a modern design, by Carmen Anon, using steel and mirrors to create a more thought-provoking character.
