    Old Mutual Conference & Exhibition Centre The Conference and Exhibition Centre at Kirstenbosch is situated in the Visitors' Centre, the main gateway into this world-famous botanical garden. The Conference and Exhibition Centre accommodates up to 380 delegates, with an adjoining foyer and breakaway rooms. It is suitable for events such as conferences, product launches, corporate and private functions. The dimensions of the hall are: length: 28.7m, width: 13.6m, ceiling height: 4.65m, total floor area: 393m2. Audio-visual equipment supplied: Flipcharts, overhead projectors, lapel microphone, lectern microphone, lectern public address system, 5-shuttle CD player, twin cassette deck, amplifier, touch-screen, remote control panel for audiovisual equipment and lighting, chairs. Other: Stage: 9.2m X 3.4m, soundproof partitioning to divide the room into two or three sections, kitchen facilities for outside caterers, air-conditioning underfloor heating, breakaway rooms, registration desk, free parking. One section is ideal for meetings, workshops and presentations for 30 to 80 people. Weddings The Old Mutual Conference Centre is also ideal for private parties and weddings. If your wedding takes place at this venue, the wedding ceremony can be held in the Sculpture Garden at Kirstenbosch. The wedding photos can then also be taken in this area. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Botanical Society Conservatory The Conservatory houses South African succulent plants that cannot survive in open air at Kirstenbosch. This is a venue with a difference for cocktail parties for up to 120 people. The Conservatory is available for hire on weekdays from 17h30. This venue is available for hire during the summer from 08h00 until 19h00 and during winter from 08h00 until 18h00. Kitchen facilities: small kitchen available - not equipped. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marquee lawn A marquee lawn of 24m X 44m is available for big functions and cocktail parties.     Kirstenbosch is a plant lover's paradise, and it is also a shopper's delight. This is the ideal place to buy enviro-friendly gifts, books, plants and sculpture. The retail outlets at Kirstenbosch are not directly operated by the SANBI and contact details for the various shops can be found below. All the shops are outside the Garden itself and can be visited without paying to enter the Garden. Please use contact details provided below to contact these suppliers. Please do not contact email SANBI, these are all independent service providers -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Plants Kirstenbosch Garden Centre The Kirstenbosch Garden Centre is an indigenous nursery operated by Richard Jamieson, Trish Hutton-Squire and Donovan Gillman, who together have more than 50 years of nursery and landscape experience, much of it with indigenous plants. A wide range of plants including bulbs, succulents, groundcovers, trees, shrubs, climbers, annuals, fynbos plants and herbaceous material is on sale. Compost and environmentally friendly fertilizers, insecticides and fungicides are stocked. Fresh cut flowers can also be bought. The Garden centre is open 09h00 to 17h00 everyday excepting Christmas Day and Easter Saturday. The nursery, has its own entrance from the car park at gate 2, but access to the gardens is restricted to ticket holders only. Please note that the nursery does not operate a mail order system and neither are we able to arrange phytosanitary certificates necessary for moving plants around the world. The shop offers a free gift wrap service, 10% discount to Botanical Society members and a comprehensive freight service. Kirstenbosch Logo Store The Kirstenbosch Logo Store is a satellite store of the Kirstenbosch Shop specialising in a range of Kirstenbosch memorabilia. "We are fortunate to live in a country where our climate lends itself to outdoor living and it makes sense not to restrict your lifestyle to being indoors. The old favourites like fish and chips and bangers and mash are served with contemporary flair and many new exciting dishes have been added to the extensive menu. Breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, soups and comfort foods, lunches and teas are served. Try their “Tea for Two” high tea! Everything is baked on the spot – wholewheat seed loaf, Italian bread, cakes, muffins, cinnamon buns and scones served with clotted cream. Order “to go” and enjoy your meal in the garden. Anything off our menu is available to take away.
