The Floralies Gardens were made during the International Floralies competition of 1980, held in Parc Jean Drapeau (formerly Parc des Iles de Montreal, because it is on several islands). There are gardens designed by well-known renowned landscape artists and designers from around the world, with theme gardens representing Canada, USA, France, England, Mexico, Belgium and Italy. The marker on the location map is positioned in the Italian garden.
