Gardenvisit Editorial

The best-known of Scotland's 'sub-tropical' gardens, surprising because of its northerly latitude. The garden was started in 1862 by Osgood Mackenzie. The vegetation at Inverewe Garden is lush and the garden overlooks Loch Ewe.

Well worth a visit, particularly in April, May and June. Stunning rhododendrons, azaleas and magnolias, undeplanted with primula and bulbs. Lovely walled garden. Splendid woodland walks. Most plants and trees labelled - take the reference number to the reception desk if the full name is not provided. Small garden centre - but the range isn't representative of what you see in the garden.
