Hutton-in-the-Forest

Hutton is a calm and charming garden. It had an English version of a late-renaissance compartment garden in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It is the type of layout made famous by Kip and Knyff's drawings.Their structure survives but is now dressed in the horticultural clothing of a Mixed Style Victorian garden. It has terraces, a walled garden, a dovecote, lakes and woodland walks, all set in the remnants of the forest from which the estate takes its name.
