There is a park, kitchen garden enclosed by a hornbeam hedge and late eighteenth century orangery. Hovdala Castle was the home of the Ehrenborg family from 1665 to 1981. It has a Castle Park - Slottspark - and Castle Garden - Slottsträdgård. The kitchen garden was restored by by the landscape architect Barbara Johnson and is used to supply fresh food for the Hovdala restaurant. Plants are slected according to both cultural and historical criteria.
