Henry Stuart Garden

Gardenvisit Editorial

The garden was made by Adele and Mary Stuart after 1918. They travelled to England and returned with garden design ideas. The style of the house is 'cottage orne' and the garden would probably have been admired by the English author, William Robinson, who started a magazine on Cottage Gardening in 1892 with the proclamation 'To those who look at a garden from an artistic point of view the cottage garden is often far more beautiful than the gentleman's garden near it'.
Address Maison Henry-Stuart, 82 Grande Allee Ouest, Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, G1R 2G6
Opening times Open Sundays from May to October and daily late June to Labour Day.

Does anyone know if there is any connection between the former owners of this house and the Henry Stuart who wrote a book called the Planter's Guide?
