Ge Garden Yangzhou

Yangzhou was famous for its monopoly of the salt trade and the Ge Yuan was built for a rich salt merchant, during the Qing dynasty. It has a very elaborage rock garden, which westerners find difficult to appreciate, and is most interesting for the 'clan compound' with courtyard housing in the south half of the garden.
