A park and botanical garden designed by Thomas Mawson in 1906. There is a lily pond, a series of yew-hedged enclosures, a swimming pool garden, a Japanese garden and an arboretum.

Opening times - All year. Daily. Open 10am to dusk.
Admission - March to October Adult £6.00, Child £2.00. November to February Adult £3.00, Child £1.00. Under 5s Free.

    I arrived at Dyffryn on a whim.

    I knew nothing about it accept as it was in the HHA scheme it would cost me nothing.

    And you know what? I loved it. I big fan of Victorian/Edwardian garden design. They have an intimacy that the likes of Capability Brown ignored and that modern gardeners seem to sneer at. Dyffryn is a garden which feels like the room of a house moved outdoors.

    I believe it is owned by the council and parts are under repair. When done it will earn 5 from me.
