An old castle turned into a French-style chateau by Victorian additions overlooks an Italianate seaside garden with box parterres with colourful bedding displays, pools and fountains. Fine herbaceous borders, topiary, potager and a garden of wooden pyramids supporting roses, clematis and vines. Look out for: Giant rhubarb, California lilac, Buddleias, Fuchsias and old Roses, views over the Moray Firth to the Cairngorm mountains. Daily falconry displays.

Opening times - April to mid-October. Daily (no falconry display on Sundays in April, May, September and October).
Admission - Adult £8.50 (includes castle, gardens, mueseum and falconry display)
