The Garden Landscape Guide

Dunham Massey Garden

An eighteenth century house with a park and garden. The park, unlike so many, retains its old avenues. The lake was formerly a moat and is overlooked by a Tudor mount. The Dunham Massey garden has an Edwardian parterre, lawns and an orangery.

My rating of Dunham shows all my prejudices. I like water features and parks and gardens that have places to read books and teem with wildlife. Dunham gave lovely views of deer and a flash of a Kingfisher.

The gardens integrate nicely with the park.
