Gardenvisit Editorial

A great house, designed by Robert Smythson in 1600, with a walled garden and gatehouse of the same period. The parterre in the west garden was made in 1900. The woodland garden has walks, a stream and a recent turf maze and Temple of the Winds. There is also a newly-restored and fully productive Kitchen Garden.

There are a working vegetable garden that looks like it could to with a just tiny bit of TLC, a woodland garden (lovely chestnut tree!!) and a more "formal" garden with boxed hedges.

There approach to the house is beautifully manicured with well kept topiareis. The rest of the garden has a more lived in feel.

There is nothing "important" here just a pleasant olde worlde feel.

there's a big and expensive farm shop!
