    How to describe Delapre Abbey?
    (A Little Hidden Gem)

I can't could'nt believe what a beautiful place his hidden away in Northampton, the grounds are so well kept and the cafe in the walled garden were so welcoming for me and my dog (George).

For all the volunteers that offer their time and effort to keep Delapre Abbey presentable. A Big Thankyou

I also live in the area and have visited Delapre Abbey and Parklands on a daily basis over the last 45 years. It is indeed a magical place with wonderful wildlife to observe. Birds in particular - tawny owl, little owl, green and great spotted woodpeckers, nuthatches and treecreepers, long tailed, great and blue tits, chaffinch and blackcaps to name a few. The wild garden to the east of the walled garden is a sight to behold in the spring - bluebells, crocus, aconites, snowdrops and there are some rare and beautiful trees, the paper handkerchief tree flowers in late April/early May.

I live in the area and walk my dog around Delapre Abbey every day. It is so good to see, what was once becoming a run down vanalised park, developing into the beautiful park it deserves to be. The Friends of Delapre Abbey are doing a great job to entice more and more families to visit.

A beautiful, magical place.I have been so many times yet I never become bored of this enchanted place. The gardens are wonderful, and sculpture inspiring.A great place for all the family to relax and enjoy. It also has a tea room, and always has friendly staff.A place full of history. It makes you feel like a child again enclosed in your own secret garden. Its a place you will leave feeling you must return to for more!

Delapre is a lovely place to chill out away from the bustle of the town. It is only a 20-25 min walk from Northampton town centre with a coffe shop and beautiful gardens. If you have time I'd recommend a walk round the lake.
