A medieval granite house with a terraced garden (1862) overlooking a sheltered valley which is planted with exotic and tender plants. It belonged to the Edgecumbe family, which owned Mount Edgecumbe, until 1947. The house and the dovecote are medieval - and very fine. The woodland valley garden is late Victorian, with a picturesque character.

One of the National Trust's gems.
The gardens are superb with a terraced garden and a valley garden leading to a delightful estuary/harbour. and passing a chapel of 1490 to Thomas Becket(4.0/5)
