Cotehele Garden

  4.7/5 (3 ratings)

Gardenvisit Editorial

A medieval granite house with a terraced garden (1862) overlooking a sheltered valley which is planted with exotic and tender plants. It belonged to the Edgecumbe family, which owned Mount Edgecumbe, until 1947. The house and the dovecote are medieval - and very fine. The woodland valley garden is late Victorian, with a picturesque character.

Beautiful gardens and a gem of a place for the National Trust!

Terrace gardens, orchards, arboretum-style spaces and a stunning Valley Garden. There is so much to see at Cotehele, including a wonderful house and mill and a very tranquil quay. Well worth a visit!

One of the National Trust's gems.

The gardens are superb with a terraced garden and a valley garden leading to a delightful estuary/harbour. and passing a chapel of 1490 to Thomas Becket
