An ancient estate with a much-altered garden. Its present character is Victorian with lakes, woodland gardens, trees, shrubs and herbaceous borders. Vernon Russell-Smith designed a lakeside garden in the 1960s.

History

A Jacobean style Hall dated from 1719 when it was orginally designed by the Smiths of Warwick. It was later altered in 1837 by Blore and rebuilt by Salvin in 1861 following a disastrous fire. The present Squire is William Bromley-Davenport whose family have governed the estate since Domesday times.

Opening times - April to October. Monday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays. Garden open 12 noon to 5pm. House opens at 1:30pm and last admission at 3:30pm.
