Calke Abbey is being preserved as 'a graphic illustration of the English country house in decline'. One wonders if a similar policy should be applied to the walled garden and pleasure ground. The gardens include an 18th century glass domed orangery, walled gardens, physic garden, peach house and the unique Auricula Theatre.

Opening times Mid March to October. Saturday to Wednesday including Bank Holiday Mondays and Good Friday. Also open Thurdsay and Friday early July to early September. Open 11am to 5pm.
