Bruchsal Schlossgarten

Gardenvisit Editorial

The palace is a significant example of German baroque architecture. The owner (see Text Link) declared that 'not till I am a cold corpse will I cease to be master' and in his desire for immortality put more effort into the design of the palace than the baroque garden. But it also had romantic additions and, as Gothein adds, 'It is a pity that an attempt was not made to restore the garden itself in the old style'.
