The Britzer Garden emerged from the Bundesgartenschau in 1985.
Design: Wolfgang Miller, garden and landscape architect; Georg Penker, garden architect, Zilling, Zillich, Halfmann – garden and landscape architect
Opening: 26. April 1985
Plants of note
The modern landscape park has numerous special gardens such as the “Hexengarten†(witch garden) – a mediaeval castle and herb garden, the Karl-Foerster-shrubb Garden and the Rose Garden with 250 individual varieties, theme gardens, wood exhibition and the rhododendron grove.
“Tulipan in the Britzer Garden†is the overture of a blossoming garden year in the Britzer Garden. Tulips displaying various shapes, colours and sizes including species which look like lilies or water lilies bloom in the months of April and May which are presented in “Tulipan in the Britzer Gardenâ€. More than 500.000 tulips can be admired here which bloom on meadows surrounded by blossoming fruit trees, grape hyacinths and daffodils.
Dahlias belong to one of the most gorgeous and most colourful flowers the Britzer Garden has to offer. If planted at the perfect location they blossom continuously from mid summer all the way through to the first signs of frost.
The Flower of the Aztec has been dedicated its own exibition, the "Dahlia-Fever". Every year up to 10.000 dahlias amaze visitors with all their various sizes, colours and blossom shapes - presenting more than 200 different species of dahlias.

The Britzer Garten is worth to visit all year. For example: in early spring you´ll find thousands of early bloomers everywhere, special is the "Tulipan" tulip- show in April/ May. Also a place to spend the whole day there, maybe with a pick nick basket. I
