Barcelona’s new Botanical Garden was opened in 1999 on an old solid landfill site on the hill of Montjuïc.It was designed by the landscape architect Bet Figueras, the horticulturalist Artur Bossy, the biologist Joan Pedrola and the architects Carlos Ferrater and Josep Lluís Canosa.  Plants are grouped according to five Mediterranean regions. The design is a triangular network adapted with a network of paths.
