Bagh e Afif

This was a shah's palace garden, built in 1863, during the Qajar period of European influence on Persia. The building is now used as an army museum and the gardens have the tired air of a military encampment. A tea house in the old bath house garden has a much pleasanter character: cool and enclosed.
