Hundertwasser designed an earth-sheltered spa complex which some have likened to a Telly Tubby Landscape. Yet it has real quality, is admired by visitors and may yet point the way to an urban design future in which most buildings are earth-sheltered. The advantages are many. Vegetation-covered buildings are better-insulated, better for wildlife, better for water conservation, quieter, cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
I love the sweeping grass roofs and the architecture at Bad Blumau. Not so keen on the actual gardens but its a great place to visit. You can book a day visit in the spa without staying in the Bad Blumau hotel.
