Arlington House is an early nineteenth century Greek Revival mansion, situated on a hill overlooking the Potomac River. It was designed by English architect George Hadfield, who helped design the US Capitol. For 30 years, Arlington House was home to Robert E. Lee (George Washington Parke Custis' son in law) until Virginia's secession from the United States in 1861.

This small historic garden nestled within Arlington cemetary is a restful and reminiscent space. The history of America spans hundreds of years atop this hill as it captures the essence of our American gardening beginning.
